A cold hush settles over the spruce as you step from the private hut into the Kuoksa winter. Snow compresses under your snowshoes; the forest exhales a clean, metallic air that seems to push you forward. For about three hours you'll trace quiet paths away from Rovaniemi's lights, moving through shallow ridges and across frozen shorelines where the lake holds the sky like glass.

No prior snowshoeing experience is necessary; guides give instruction and equipment (snowshoes, poles, winter boots) is provided.
Transport from the pickup point, snowshoes and poles, winter boots, thermal overalls, a private hut stop, snacks (sausage, cookies, warm blueberry juice) and a guide are included.
Temperatures can drop well below freezing; wear layered clothing, insulated boots, warm gloves and a hat—avoid cotton and bring insulated water container.
