A warm sea breeze pushes against the longtail as it cuts away from Ao Nang, limestone cliffs receding into the dusk. By day the islands wear a crown of turquoise and powder-white sand; by night the water can suddenly answer with a slow, living light. On this cruise you watch a Railay sunset, walk the transient sandbank between islands, and finish with the improbable glow of bioluminescent plankton coaxing the sea into motion.
