When choosing a lodge, it ultimately boils down to how committed they are to ensuring a quality experience for their guests. No one can guarantee that the fishing is always red hot, but at Kodiak Lodge we can promise that everything we do is to provide you the very best fishing experience ever. That starts with our people. Our USCG captains are seasoned professionals, each with over a decade of experience fishing the waters out of Larsen Bay. When you get on the boat with our captains, you become part of the team participating in hands on fishing, whether setting the downriggers while trolling, jigging for halibut or casting swimbaits to schools of rockfish. The tackle you fish with is the latest high-quality Daiwa rods, reels and line selected for the specific techniques we like to fish. There are always 3-4 different rod setups per person on each boat to match up with the different ways we fish, and most days we utilize each rod on the boat. Each technique is chosen and refined to provide each guest the most effective and fun way to catch the many varieties of fish in our waters. Most importantly, we aren’t ordering you around and getting upset with lost fish or tangled lines. Whether its your first time fishing, or your a seasoned pro, we treat you as our special guests and we take pride in making each day, the most enjoyable day of fishing ever.

Safe and comfortable boats with state of the art electronics are crucial to a successful day on the water. For the 2020 season we invested in two brand new 29’ North Rivers with enclosed heated cabins, full marine heads, and walk around hull design. These were custom built for our lodge and they are the perfect size for us to maneuver into where the fish are located, yet large enough to comfortably fish 6. After the catch, we’ll take great pride in how we care for your fish by bleeding and icing them as soon as it comes aboard the boat. When you return to the lodge your daily catch is filleted, vacuum sealed and flash frozen in our professional grade processing facility.

THE LOCATION

The Emerald Isle is home to some of the largest salmon runs in the world and is consistently ranked as one of the top three fishing ports in the United States. Despite our fishing acclaim, we have very little fishing pressure, unlike many lodges where combat fishing is the norm. On a typical day at Kodiak Lodge you may see 4 or 5 other boats when fishing the salt and just a few other groups when fishing the rivers, yet our lodge is in a village with a modern marina, electricity, phone and internet service. Our location in Larsen Bay also allows us to fish fresh water rivers as well as the saltwater bays and fly outs aren’t required for access. Due to the abundance of fish in these water, we also enjoy some of the most generous daily limits. When comparing lodges be sure to ask about the number of fish you can keep each day. For the 2020 season, our limits per license, per day include 5 silver salmon, 2 king salmon, 5 rockfish and 2 halibut!

OUR ACCOMMODATIONS

Being in remote Alaska doesn’t mean you have to give up modern comforts. Our private upscale bedrooms are truly some of the best you will find anywhere in Alaska. Plush mattresses, down pillows and no roommates, will ensure a peaceful nights rest. Chef Alexander Rosenblum joins us this year with his award winning dishes and culinary flare. You will be provided with breakfast, lunch and an amazing dinner each night of your stay.

At Kodiak Lodge we are careful to bring a good value to our customers. Certainly there are lodges that cost less, and there are many that cost substantially more. Few can offer everything that we offer for the prices we charge however. Top of the line boats, fishing tackle, accommodations and dining are what set us apart at our price points.
