Newcastle Surfest Surf School operates from Newcastle East, New South Wales, offering surf lessons at Nobby's Beach for visitors and local residents. The school runs daily Private Surf Lessons and Group Surf Lessons as well as a Kids After School Surfing six-week program. Private Surf Lessons are expert-led, one hour and twenty minute sessions for adults and children, with all equipment supplied; participants are advised to bring swimmers and a towel. Group Surf Lessons follow the same 1 hour 20 minute format and are available daily for ages 13 and up, with a promotional offer that includes a free fifth lesson when four lessons are purchased.
The Kids After School Surfing program is a structured six-week course for children aged 5 to 12. Designed for beginners, it focuses on fundamental surfing techniques, ocean safety, surf etiquette, and building confidence in small groups with experienced instructors. Sessions emphasize supervised practice at Nobby's Beach and age-appropriate coaching methods.
Bookings are available in advance and sessions run depending on surf conditions. Newcastle Surfest Surf School provides all required surf equipment for lessons, including boards and wetsuits where appropriate.
