A salt breeze carries the tang of seaweed and diesel as the captain eases the boat away from the dock. The Kennebunkport coast unfolds—the carved, rocky shoreline, working lobster boats bobbing like punctuation, and the squat silhouette of a lighthouse marking the channel. In four hours you move from protected coves into the steady pulse of Saco Bay, lines trailing, eyes on the water where gulls and porpoise break the surface.
easy.
4 hours.
Light physical fitness: ability to stand, brace on a moving boat, and perform basic rod handling for several hours.
No—state fishing licenses are provided as part of the charter, so you don’t need to bring one.
Inshore trips commonly target striped bass and mackerel; captains may also point out other species like bluefish depending on season.
Early morning and late afternoon are often best for calmer seas and active fish, but captains adjust by tide and seasonal patterns.
The 27' center console accommodates up to 4 passengers; the 31' custom charter fits up to 6 with more covered seating.
Kennebunkport grew as a maritime community with 19th-century shipbuilding and a long tradition of inshore fishing and lobstering that still shapes local life.
Captains emphasize catch limits, proper handling and release practices for striped bass and work to avoid disturbing seabird colonies and seal haul-outs.
