Lummi Island / Clark Island 2-3 Day Adventure

Day 1 Listen for the birds feeding on the shores nearby as we pack our boats and launch into the water. As we leave our cars behind, kayaking out on a clear day we will see the giant reach of Mt. Baker glowing to our east, keeping us company while we enjoy the ride. Our first night out will be spent camping on the beautiful remote area of Lummi or Clark Island (depending on tides/weather). Relax, explore and enjoy camp while dinner is prepared for you by your wonderful guides.

Day 2 Wake up to the sound of the water and the birds chirping through the Madrona tree's with a hot cup of coffee or tea in hand. Depending on the length of your trip, day 2 will either be a slow morning of exploring the island by foot or kayak before returning to your launch location.

If you're continuing your journey onwards for another day, day 2 we will pack our things back into the boats and set off for a lengthy day of paddling. We will paddle around Carter Point (the southern end of Lummi) soaking in the intertidal diversity as we skirt around the rock edges. Camp will be set up in a remote bay off the southern tip of Lummi Island.

Optional Day 3 For our 3 day trip we will camp on both Lummi and Clark Island, weather and tides depending on order in which we stay. By adding your 3rd day, get ready for lots more exploration. Extending to add both islands is one of our favorite routes!

Requirements: Our multi-day sea kayaking tours are best suited for folks in reasonably good shape as we often can paddle 5-10 miles in a day. Although extremely rare, in case of an accidental capsize, it is best if you are able to tread water and do not have a heart condition as the water can be extremely cold. All our guides are trained professionally on rescues and although proficient in the task, for safety we need to know you will be able to help assist your guide in re-entering your boat by following their instructions with a good bill of health and moderate strength. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions regarding any requirements. All guests will sign a liability waiver and health form prior to multi-day trips. Helping guides move boats sometimes is necessary and we thank you in advance in assisting if you are willing and able to do so. If this does not sound like the trip you signed up for please get ahold of us immediately so we can customize a trip that sounds right for you.

*Moondance is dedicated to high quality sea kayak adventures. We adhere to a 1 (guide) to 8 guest ratio to ensure safety and attention to detail.
