At Northerly Swell we offer both Single and Double Kayaks for rental. The Tahe kayaks are highly versatile and stable, making them excellent for cruising on flat water or paddling in the sea, perfect for us here on Whitley Bay Beach.
Adults over 18 years old can rent our kayaks. Anyone aged under-18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times when on the water. Proof of ID is required when renting any equipment. No experience is necessary, however, you will be asked to state your experience level when signing our disclaimer.
We recommend that a full length wetsuit should be worn when renting paddleboards, surfboards and kayaks. This can be your own or it can be rented alongside the equipment. A buoyancy aid is provided with the rental of all paddleboards and kayaks and must be worn at all times. It is required for at least one member of every party to carry a mobile phone in a waterproof phone case when on the water with a paddleboard or kayak. If you do not have your own these can be purchased in store.
We will only allow the rental of equipment if the conditions are suitable. We reserve the right to stop hire at any time without notice due to unsuitable sea conditions, changing weather forecasts, safety concerns or any other circumstances beyond our control.
