If you've always wanted to get into kayaking but don't know where to start, this lesson is for you! After checking in, your guide will go through safety protocols and fit you with a lifejacket. You will then learn the technical terms for each part of a kayak and paddle and how to use them. With the help of our dock staff, our guide will teach you how to get into and out of the boat from the dock. Once on the water, you'll master some basic paddling techniques such as the forward, reverse, sweep, draw, and pry strokes! You will then practice these strokes on the river while paddling through the heart of Washington DC! Soak up the nature and the city's history while learning all the basics you'll need to safely paddle like you've been doing it for years!
