Head down to The Kayak Shop for a self guided kayak hire. Enjoy the sheltered waters by our training centre - perfect for beginners, or if the weather permits paddle to Half Moon Bay or up to Green Point exploring the coastline along the way. Book for yourself or, bring a group, we offer a range of single and double sit on top kayaks. Upon arrival our team will take you through an essential safety briefing before sending you off to enjoy your own adventure on the bay.

We ask that all paddlers arrive at their booked session at least 20 minutes before the scheduled meet time. This allows for the check in process and will assist a prompt start and ensure you maximise your play time on the water.

What to Wear (outdoor clothing is best)###

  • Old runners (you will be stepping in to water)
  • Quick dry shorts
  • A light fleece top
  • A light rain jacket

What to bring:###

Hat, sunscreen, personal first aid kit, water bottle & lunch/snacks

You can leave your valuables and keys safely with us.

You can take your phone with you for photos, however, we do recommend a waterproof case in this instance. We recommend taking your phone in case you need to contact us in the water. You can find waterproof cases we sell and recommend here. Ziplock bags will not suffice!

We supply:###

Sit-on-top kayak, PFD (personal floatation device), map, paddle, pump & dry bag (splashproof - not for immersion).

Car Parking###

A parking fee applies in all day & 2 hour car parks. Free if you have a Bayside Council Beach Parking Permit. If you wish to park for free, arrive early and drop off your personal belongings at the training centre and park your car in Arthur Street, which runs parallel with Beach Road, a short 10 min walk back.
