We offer a large stock of single person and two person kayaks for hire that are light and maneuverable.

Our kayaks are wide and stable with fitted back rests making them one of our comfiest craft to paddle. Our single kayaks have a dry hatch in the back for you to carry your belongings for the day.

All participants can expect to receive a full safety brief and demo before taking to the river ensuring you are 100% happy before you start your day.

The river is ideal for complete beginners, fitness fanatics and nature enthusiasts, you may even spot a Kingfisher or the occasional Otter, it really is a magical place.

ON THE DAY:

Upon arrival at your designated time slot, you will be greeted by a member of our team who will check you in.

Once checked in, you will be issued with a full safety briefing and the following equipment:

  • Buoyancy Aid
  • Paddle
  • Helmet
  • Dry Bag/Barrel to keep your belongings dry
  • Chosen craft
  • Map

Important to Know

What to wear/bring:

  • Tracksuit, fleeces and man-made materials are best for canoeing with old trainers.
  • Bring spare clothes just in case you get a little wet.
  • A set of waterproofs.
  • You may want to bring some snacks and maybe a picnic to enjoy at any of the public locks along the way.
  • We do ask you to take all your rubbish with you when you leave, don’t leave it on the banks or in the river.
  • We do advise you to bring plenty of water to drink especially if it’s a hot day.
  • Please bring sun cream.
  • Please avoid wearing jeans.
  • Please avoid wearing wellies.

Once you have listened to the safety briefing from one of our Qualified Instructors, you are free to explore the beautiful River Medway from our private pontoon.

All River Medway Canoes hire is up to 6 hours duration, if however, you wish to return before the 6 hours, simply paddle back to our riverside base and return the equipment.
