You push past dawn in a minivan, islands sliding by as the road narrows and the air grows humid. By midmorning the forest opens and the river ahead holds a blue so clear it seems to dare you closer. That water is Kawasan — a canyoned river that funnels cascades into plunge pools and a playground of cliffs and current.
moderate.
8 hours.
Moderate — you should be able to swim, hike short uneven trails, and handle repeated climbs and jumps up to 9 m.
Jump options range from about 1.5 meters to 9 meters; guides assess conditions and brief you before each jump so you can choose a height that suits your comfort and experience.
No — schools of sardines and turtles are seasonal and wild; many tours see them but sightings cannot be guaranteed.
For safety, children under 7 are not permitted; guides will also require ages for insurance purposes and may restrict participation for other age groups.
The operator may alter or cancel the itinerary due to weather; full refunds are available if you cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure.
Kawasan Falls sits in Badian municipality and formed where rivers cut through Cebu’s coral-limestone terrain; the area has long been a freshwater resource for nearby communities.
Practice no-touch snorkeling and use reef-safe sunscreen; stick to marked paths and follow guides to reduce erosion and disturbance to freshwater and marine habitats.
