About This Adventure

Travel our 20 mile scenic Kauai Historic Tour and take in the local history of the birthplace and playground of the kings. Our stops include snorkel beaches, shopping areas, historic sights, Botanical Gardens, historic sugar cane plantation, Train Ride, SmithClark's Tropical Paradise, Wailua River, Boating and Kayaking, Rum Tasting as well as spectacular scenery. (Note: Extra charges apply for access to some of the stops listed above)

Travel the ancient trail of the Alii (Kings) of ancient Hawaii where the royalty lived and played. Enjoy live narration from your tour guide and take in the natural Hawaiian beauty of this unique area. Hop On and Hop Off as many times as you want throughout your day as you explore well over a dozen places of interest and attractions along this exciting and beautiful historic area. Our stops include: Lydgate Beach, Smiths River Cruise to the Fern Grotto, Smiths Tropical Paradise Botanical Garden, Local Shopping, Kilohana Plantation, Kilohana Plantation Railway, Koloa Rum Company with free tasting.

1. COCONUT MARKETPLACE - A charming dining and shopping destination featuring local boutiques, galleries, and eateries.

2. SMITH'S TROPICAL PARADISE BOTANICAL GARDEN - Explore the quiet serene atmosphere of this beautiful garden on "The Coconut Coast" where peacocks and tropical birds thrive in the lush garden. Entry Fee: $10 for adults. $5 for children. Open Monday, Wednesday & Fri SMITH'S FERN GROTTO Fern grotto river cruise, a journey of songs & stories of ancient Hawaii. Enjoy live Hawaiian music & song while learning the Hula. Enjoy a short nature walk through the rain forest to the lush fern grotto. $30 for adults. $15 for children. Departs Monday - Friday 9am, 11am, 2pm & 3:30pm

3. THE KAPAIA STITCHERY - A haven for quilting and fabric enthusiasts, offering a wide selection of Hawaiian fabrics, quilting supplies, and handcrafted items. KOA STORE A delightful shop offering an array of handmade koa wood products, from furniture to fine jewelry, showcasing the craftsmanship of local artisans.

4. THE RED HIBISCUS - Gift store featuring Kauai souvenirs, local jewelry and luau fashions.

5. KUKUI GROVE SHOPPING MALL - Shopping at its best, RestUarants, Cocktails, Food Court, Kauai Ocean Discovery, Kauai Society of Artists, Live Music, Hawaiian Cultural Entertainment, FREE WIFI and so much more.

6. KILOHANA PLANTATION - Plantation Railway Tour, travel back in time & learn first hand the history of Kauai and the sugarcane industry. Traveling by tropical forests and plantation era houses. See over 50 fruits and vegetables with a stop at the farm yard to be greeted by herds of wild pigs, sheep, goats and an occasional horse & donkey. Train departs every hour from 10am to 2pm. $21.50 for adults, $18 for Seniors & $16 for children. FREE RUM TASTING at Koloa Rum Co. Enjoy the legendary rum of the bygone era at Koloa free rum tasting room. Tastings are offered daily every half an hour from 10:15 to 4pm Monday - Saturday. Rum and gifts available for purchase at Koloa Rum Company Store. KILOHANA PLANTATION MANSION - Explore the most expensive plantation home built on Kauai. Gift shop, galleries, dining at Gaylord's Restaurant, cocktails at Mahiko Lounge including Kauai's famous Mail Tai

7. KAUAI MUSEUM - Kauaʻi Museum features amazing collections from the artisans of Kauaʻi and Niʻihau (a small eastern island part of Kauaʻi county). Visitors can learn about the geological formation of the Hawaiian Islands, early Native Hawaiian life, Captain Cook’s arrival on Kauaʻi’s shores in Waimea and the Hawaiian Monarchy. Plus, visitors can view galleries showcasing the work of multi-cultural artists, sculptors and craftsmen. Guided tours are available (upon request).
