About This Adventure

Experience a unique stay in Katie’s Kaboose, a charming 1928 train car transformed into cozy lodging. Enjoy modern comforts like air conditioning and a kitchenette while surrounded by antique furnishings. With outdoor amenities, a nature trail, and a shared lawn, it’s perfect for families or meeting new friends in a picturesque setting.

About

Secluded (non-primitive) cabins have indoor kitchens, bathrooms, air conditioning, and all necessary linens. Additionally, each has a charcoal grill, fire ring, picnic table and hammock.

Katie’s Kaboose is located near fellow train car lodging, Louisville, Nashville and the School House Inn. This train car opened to guests for rental in 2016 but is circa 1928. This micro lodging option is furnished with antiques from the 1900s and will take you back in time. It was used on the Frisco Railway Line running from Pensacola to San Francisco. Katie’s Kaboose has a kitchenette that includes a 2 burner stove top, mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. (There is not a conventional oven.) Linens and basic cooking utensils are provided. Sleeping arrangements are a full size bed. The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet (no bathtub). All of our cabins (including rustic) have air conditioning units. Outdoor amenities include a deck, picnic table, charcoal grill, fire ring, view of Wolfe Creek and access to our nature trail around the property. Katie’s Kaboose has a seasonal indoor fireplace and shares a large lawn equipped with chairs, hammocks and picnic tables with the Schoolhouse Inn, making it ideal for several families wanting to be together (but in their own rooms) or to meet new friends!
