The morning light in Yogyakarta thins as a minivan steers out across rice paddies toward the karst ridges of Gunung Kidul. At Kalisuci an underground river calls—cold, fast and bright against the black cave walls—and guides fit guests into tubes, helmets and headlamps. The ride is intimate: you float beneath low arches, past curtains of flowstone and dripping stalactites, carried by a river that seems to insist you keep moving.

The tubing ride is approximately 1.5 hours and follows about 700 meters of underground river, including short walks to and from entry points.
