Join Dr. Logger on an exciting 1.5-hour field trip into veterinary science, where young learners explore the fascinating world of sea turtles. Engage in a hands-on “rescue to release” simulation and tour the Outdoor Sea Turtle Hospital, all while meeting Florida’s educational standards. A memorable adventure awaits!

Students will discuss basic defining characteristics of sea turtles and the key role that this animal plays in our oceans. Students will participate in a “rescue to release” simulation with their very own model sea turtle to learn about our treatment techniques and record keeping. Students will also receive a guided tour of our Outdoor Sea Turtle Hospital.
Please note, field trips are educator-led lessons held in a classroom setting, laboratory setting or out in the field. All lessons are aligned to Florida’s State Academic Standards for Science. Exploration of our One Ocean Hall and Outdoor Ecosystem Tanks are self-guided extensions of our field trip programs.
Cost: $15 per student, Teacher’s Free, Non- Teacher Chaperones $5 per adult
Capacity: Max 60 students
Minimum 10 students required.
We require there be 1 chaperone/teacher to every 10 students. There will be a fee of $100 associated the day of the field trip if there is not the proper amount of chaperones/teachers per students.

Plan to arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time to check in and get settled for the field trip.
Wear breathable, casual clothes suitable for light outdoor activity and walking around the hospital grounds.
Groups are capped at 60 students with a required chaperone ratio; overcrowding can reduce program quality.
Respect any photography guidelines during medical simulations and hospital tours to avoid disturbing animals.
