You arrive at the limestone rim as morning light slices the humid air; vines tug at the edge and the mouth of Jomblang yawns like a collapsed well. Guides clip harnesses, ropes hum, and you lower into a shaft where sunlight pours down in a single column—locals call it the “Light of Heaven.” The underground forest breathes green in that beam while the cave walls hold cool, mineral-smoothed silence.

Moderately fit: you should be comfortable with steep stairs, a controlled 60m vertical descent (guided), and short swims or floating in a tube.
Expect a guided 60m descent and roughly 300m of walking inside Jomblang plus cave tubing; moderate fitness is required and the operator advises against participation for those with back, heart problems or pregnancy.
Wear quick-dry clothing, bring a change of clothes, towel, insect repellent, closed-toe water shoes or sturdy sandals, and a waterproof case for electronics; bottled water is provided.
No technical experience is needed—the guides provide all rigging and instruction for the vertical descent, but you should be comfortable with heights and following safety directions.
