You start at the mouth of a vertical hole in the earth — a rim of limestone that frames a shaft of sky. Guides clip your harness, the rope hums, and you’re lowered 50 meters into cool stone. Light from above slices the darkness in the Grubug chamber, beads of water drip like a slow metronome, and the cave seems to breathe around you.
