Experience Amsterdam's vibrant past, rain or shine!

Meet Jewish Amsterdammers from across four centuries!

About

In the 1590s, Jewish Amsterdammers began building a community in the relative safety of the city that transformed both the Netherlands and the world. Learn about these creative, compassionate, and challenging mavericks and their lasting impact.

Highlights include:

  • The diamond factory and the union that revolutionized Dutch working conditions
  • The hidden church and the world-renowned philosopher who lived there first
  • The towering theater and the comedienne with the enormous legacy

Please wear good walking shoes and dress for the weather. In true Dutch fashion, we try to go rain or shine and cold or heat, though we will cancel and reschedule/refund if the weather looks severe.

The tour ends at Waterlooplein. If you're biking to the tour, a good place to park is where the Sint Antoniesbreestraat meets the Jodenbreestraat.

Traveling Solo?

We have a minimum of 2 people per tour, so if you have trouble finding a single availability at the time you want, you have three options:

  1. Team up with a (new) friend to start a tour at that time!
  2. Book a Solo Traveler Ticket, and we’ll move you to a spot on an upcoming tour.
  3. Follow us on Instagram or Facebook where we post stories 2 days in advance if we have any openings in a scheduled tour.
