You step off the cobblestones of the Old Port and the city gives way to wind and spray—steel skyline to your left, the Clock Tower shrinking as the jet boat punches into the broad St. Lawrence. The captain calls the turn; the craft leans, water hisses, and the river seems to dare you forward.
