The morning sun cuts across arid ridgelines as a red open-air jeep bumps away from downtown Palm Springs toward a palm-filled cleft in the desert. Guides steer over rocky roads and point out washes and ancient trails while the canyon’s palms gather light like a sheltered town — the water daring travelers to draw closer.

Meet in the Sightseeing Tour Loading Zone in front of the Welwood Murray Memorial Library at 100 S. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs; arrive 10–15 minutes early.

The guided hike is about one mile on mostly flat creekside trail with some uneven footing—moderate fitness is recommended.
