Your Whiskey Adventure starts with our fun and knowledgeable guide - whose name happens to be on his own brand of Bourbon - and a comfortable 90-minute ride to Lynchburg in our high-roof touring van. Along the way, you'll learn interesting facts about Nashville, about Lynchburg's rich history of distilling, and more. Feel free to bring along libations for the ride if you'd like! We'll provide water, soft drinks and light snacks, as well as sparkling conversation, trivia, and maybe a road game or two. Your tour includes a souvenir glass.
Arriving in Lynchburg at around 10:30, your prepaid tickets will be ready - no waiting in line for you - and your tour of Jack Daniel's Distillery will begin after you've had time to take in the historic displays and grounds. You'll hear the history of an entrepreneur whose distillery became the very first registered in the US, see the cave spring where all of today's Jack still originates, and and learn fascinating stories of the people and the process behind the spirit before tasting a selection of five different Jack Daniel whiskeys in the belly of a barrel house!
After your 90-minute tour and tasting, there's much more to explore in quaint and welcoming Lynchburg! You'll see the historic town square where food and crafted items are available, as well as many historic buildings, art, and additional museums.
If you opt for the Tennessee Platinum Whiskey Tour option, you'll also enjoy a generous included Barbecue Lunch, after which you'll be guided to a local winery, for tastings of a variety of unique Tennessee wines, followed by a visit to a second distillery, where locally produced moonshine, vodka, and rum will be sampled.
After a leisurely visit to the town square, we'll depart Lynchburg at 2:30, returning to Nashville at approximately 4:00.
Our "Jack & Friends" option and our "Tennessee Platinum Whiskey Tour" option both include pre-paid admission to two additional distilleries in Nashville that you can schedule on your own. Each is a full 1-hour tour with included tastings... You'll hear even more fascinating history and meet an active distiller who'll answer your questions and give you a special insider perspective.
If you'd like, we'll drop you at one of these distilleries as we get back into Nashville, and direct you to the third. You can visit all three in a day if you'd like! No rush, though... you can visit the additional two distilleries at your leisure any time with our provided tickets.
Our van will return to our departure location at about 4:15 and your guide will be happy to provide you with recommendations and information for the rest of your visit.
Note: You may bring along beverages of your own for the van ride between places. Tennessee laws don't allow us to provide alcohol on the van, but they do allow you to bring your own to enjoy along the way. We'll provide water, soft drinks, and a few light snacks. BE ADVISED: Jack Daniel's has a no-bag policy (no backpacks or purses larger than a clutch) on the tour, and the tour includes outdoor walking and stairs. A valid ID is required to participate.
