Morning fog lifts off the Moray Firth as a coach eases out of Inverness, passengers tightening scarves and scanning the hills that give rise to Speyside’s whisky. The road climbs toward the Cairngorms, where rivers that shaped the glens still push the industry: clear springs, steely water, and peat-stained streams that feed mash tuns and copper stills.

The tour is approximately 9–10 hours (555 minutes) and departs from Railway Terrace, Inverness (check-in opens 15 minutes before departure).

The coach is accessible for general travel, but distillery sites may have uneven surfaces and steps; contact the operator ahead to discuss specific accessibility needs.
Speyside’s modern whisky scene grew from 19th-century small-scale distilling and cooperage traditions; Cardhu’s name comes from Gaelic for 'black rock' and played a role in blending history.
Distilleries in the region are increasingly adopting water-management and sustainable cask sourcing practices; visitors should follow site rules, avoid litter, and stick to marked paths.
