About This Adventure

Dive into the world of traditional climbing with this hands-on course, where you'll learn to place modern protection and build secure anchors. Experience the thrill of lead climbing while mastering essential skills like rock assessment and belaying. Join a small group for personalized instruction and unforgettable outdoor adventure!

“Trad”, or traditional, climbing means placing protection on lead and building anchors with removable, re-usable equipment that fits into cracks in the rock. While most trad-climbers no longer trust their lives to a machine nut with some string tied through it, learning how to place modern equipment securely takes practice and a creative mind. Get started with each in this exciting new course!  ​

-Site selection -Assessing rock quality -Passive protection -Active protection -Building anchors -Sling use and racking -Leading Trad climbs -Belaying a follower -Transitioning to rappel
