Join a vibrant Indonesian cooking class in Amsterdam, where you'll create a delicious rice table featuring dishes from various regions. Indonesian open group cooking classes for individuals, couples and families above 16 years old (Participants aged between 16 and 17 years old must be accompanied by at least one adult who will also join the experience).
Menu We compose the Indonesian menu based on your dietary preferences and allergies. Expect a rice table with well-known and lesser-known dishes from Bali, Java, Lombok, Sumatra and Sulawesi.
Program Upon arrival you take a seat at the bar, have a beverage of your choice, and eat prawn crackers with our homemade sambals. In the meantime, our chef introduces himself, and explains the Indonesian ingredients you are going to use, such as kencur and kemangi, and you start making the bumbu's (Indonesian spice pastes) and dishes. Afterwards, you'll enjoy a nice dinner and conversations with like-minded people. We share the recipes and locations where we buy the ingredients as well.

Open group means that you can sign up for this Indonesian cooking class as an individual or as a couple. This is NOT a private group activity. The group remains small, max 12 people, so that there is enough space for personal guidance and asking questions. We accomodate the classes in both Dutch and English.

We use the lunch restaurant Gallery 3, Bilderdijkstraat 175h in Amsterdam as the location for our Indonesian open group cooking classes. Expect a cozy and relaxed restaurant setting.
Getting to the class a few minutes early ensures you can settle in and meet your instructor without rush.
