Immersive Evening at TODA Dubai: Debussy, Prokofiev & Franck in 360°

At the Theatre of Digital Art (TODA) in Dubai, An Evening of Classical Sonatas gathers chamber music and new technology into a single, elegant hour. Located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, TODA’s 360° projection space wraps listeners in shifting imagery as violinist Nicolas Koeckert and pianist Oleg Poliansky perform French and Russian sonatas by Claude Debussy, Sergei Prokofiev and César Franck. The result is an intimate recital turned into a cinematic listening experience. This 60-minute programme is built around close musical conversation: Koeckert’s warm, precise bowing answers Poliansky’s pianistic depth across impressionistic color and late‑Romantic sweep. Works by Debussy emphasize tonal color and delicate pedaling; Prokofiev brings jagged rhythms and modern bite; Franck supplies lyrical gravity. Because the stage sits within a 360° digital canvas, projection imagery amplifies themes in the music without overpowering it—shapes echoing Debussy’s impressionism, bold geometry during Prokofiev, and quiet, warm hues for Franck. That audiovisual marriage is the key feature here: chamber repertoire presented with the scale and sensory detail of a gallery installation. Practical choices make this offering stand out in Dubai’s cultural landscape. TODA Dubai’s format reduces the formal distance of concert hall etiquette, inviting listeners to arrive focused and open to the blending of sight and sound. The programme’s compact length makes it ideal for evening visitors who want a concentrated cultural encounter between dinner and a night on the town. It’s also a rare chance to hear two internationally acclaimed soloists collaborate in a city where world‑class touring musicians are still a relatively recent arrival. If you’re curious about the musical arc, expect impressionistic textures, dramatic modernist edges, and late‑Romantic lyricism, each enhanced by the venue’s surround projections. The experience suits regular concertgoers who want novelty in presentation, travelers seeking a cultured night out, and anyone interested in how technology can reframe classical repertoire. Practical notes: check the 19:00 start time, arrive early to explore the foyer’s digital displays, and note the minimum age of 13. TODA’s immersive environment rewards attentive listening—flash photography and loud conversation will diminish the effect. For visitors planning multiple cultural stops in Dubai, this recital pairs well with nearby contemporary galleries and late‑night restaurants. An Evening of Classical Sonatas at TODA is less about nostalgia for the concert hall and more about encountering chamber music as a modern, sensory event—small in scale, big in presentation, and unmistakably of its place in Dubai’s growing arts scene. Ticketing is handled through the venue's booking platform—consult the linked event page for seating choices and any pre-show notices. Because seating is intimate, center rows give the best views of bowing details; late admission is restricted. Food and drink policies vary, so plan dinner before or after to keep the performance immersive.
