Poente by Vallado, based in Porto, offers immersive wine experiences that combine virtual reality tours of Quinta do Vallado with curated tastings. The program presents a detailed virtual tour of the Quinta do Vallado estate, explains the brand and family history, and pairs the VR narrative with guided tastings of Douro wines and Ports.
Experiences range from focused Port tastings to mono-varietal sessions and comparative vertical tastings, with formats that include five to eight wines depending on the itinerary. Signature offerings include a tasting that features five aged Ports and a rare 1843 vintage, a Ports flight that includes a 30-year-old Tawny, and a monocasta tasting highlighting six indigenous grape varieties. Other options present four iconic estate wines or side-by-side comparisons of new and old vintages across eight samples. Each visit blends sensory tasting with historical context provided by the virtual reality presentation of Quinta do Vallado.
Located in Porto, the operation connects visitors directly to Douro terroir without requiring travel into the valley. Poente by Vallado works with wines from Quinta do Vallado to ensure authenticity in the bottles presented during tastings. The experiences suit wine enthusiasts seeking guided technical tasting, collectors interested in old vintages, and visitors who value a structured introduction to Douro varietals and Port styles. Reservations and specific tasting menus are provided at booking to reflect the chosen itinerary and wine availability. Staff provide guided tastings aligned with each itinerary, and availability depends on wine stocks and selected experience at booking time and local regulations.
