Embark on an exciting journey into ice skating with this 8-week beginner program! Learn essential skills like falling safely and finding your balance, while gaining confidence to glide forwards and backwards. Coaches guide you through basic concepts, ensuring you master speed control and stopping, making your ice skating experience both fun and memorable.
8 Weeks 30 Minute sessions
Complete beginners start here and they will be slowly introduced to the basics of ice skating with the goal of making the skater safe on the ice. Once they have been introduced to the correct way to fall and stand up on the ice, coaches will encourage skaters to find their own balance and start moving across the ice independently in both directions, forwards and backwards!
Our rinks maintain an air temperature of 10C so warm layers are a must! An insulated rain jacket will keep you warm and dry, and be sure to bring long socks.
Wear warm, layered clothing to stay comfortable inside the cool skating rink.
Use well-fitted ice skates provided or bring your own to ensure safety and control.
Keep a broad stance and use the rink’s railings for stability as you learn to glide.
Do light stretching to prepare your muscles before stepping onto the ice.
