With expert coaching, participants will enhance their skills and confidence on the ice. Enjoy a cozy coffee shop for warmth and refreshments while watching the action unfold!
8 Weeks 30 Minute sessions
In this level skaters should flow comfortably from forward to backward and backward to forward on the basis of continuous free skating and should be able to glide around the ice with ease. Skaters will link crossovers with 3 turns and mohawks. Coaches will introduce skaters to basic jumps and assist them in doing so with the correct technique before progressing to the next level.
We have a fully stocked skate shop…so no need to panic if you forget your socks or gloves! Better still, we also have a cosy coffee shop so if you’re beginning to feel the cold, you can enjoy a hot drink and food, whilst you sit back, relax and view all the fast-paced action on the ice!
Our rinks maintain an air temperature of 10C so warm layers are a must! An insulated rain jacket will keep you warm and dry, and be sure to bring long socks. We strongly recommend that young skaters wear a well-fitted bike, ice hockey or ski helmet.
Wear layers that keep you warm and allow movement, including gloves and a hat for comfort during breaks.
Getting to the rink early ensures you have ample time to rent gear and warm up before class begins.
Keep water handy to stay hydrated during active lessons, especially in the indoor heated environment.
Listen carefully to coaching tips and follow safety guidelines to prevent falls and injuries.
Iceworld Olympic Ice Rinks has been serving Brisbane since its establishment in 1995, and was the site of some of the city's earliest indoor ice sports events.
The rink emphasizes energy efficiency and waste reduction, recycling excess water and minimizing electricity use.
Protect your hands from the cold and falls while on the ice.
Layered clothing helps keep you warm in the rink's climate-controlled environment.
Wearing a helmet can provide extra safety, especially for beginners.
Stay dry and hydrated throughout your session.
