You step from the shuttle as the late afternoon sun steels the sand into a hard, warm crust; a line of 4x4s and buggies wait like restless beasts ready to run. Engine rumble and the scrubby silhouette of acacia and dunes set the stage for two hours of high‑speed sand driving, followed by quiet camel pads and an evening lit by firelight and Bedouin song.
moderate.
6 hours.
Moderate fitness is sufficient—able to handle short periods of physical balance on buggies and camels and standing at the camp.
No formal experience is required—guides provide a short driving test and instructions; however, basic coordination and comfort with off‑road vehicles help.
Yes—an open buffet dinner, Bedouin tea, and bottled water are included in the tour price; extra drinks at the camp may incur charges.
The tour is generally suitable for most ages, but it's not recommended for pregnant travelers or those with serious spine or heart conditions; check local age limits for driving buggies.
Operators will cancel in the case of severe weather (sandstorms or unsafe driving conditions) and offer a full refund if canceled at least 24 hours before departure.
The area links Bedouin nomadic traditions with Red Sea trading routes; many cultural practices shown at camps are contemporary interpretations of older customs.
The coastal desert is fragile—stay on designated tracks, avoid littering, and support operators who limit fuel use and respect local communities.
