Morning light in the Callejón de Huaylas cuts across glacial ridges and wakes the town of Huaraz. On this four‑day circuit you move from high Andean pastures to blue ice‑fed lagoons, and finally to a ceremonial stone complex whose carved faces still fix your gaze. The air is thin and bright; each step asks for attention and rewards it with sudden views of snowfields and turquoise water.

Good cardiovascular fitness and prior high‑altitude hiking experience recommended; able to hike 3–6 hours a day with elevation gain.
Very important—the itinerary reaches up to ~4,600 m; allot time to walk slowly, hydrate, and monitor symptoms of altitude sickness.
