You step into the cool, dim tunnel level beneath Downtown Houston, the city’s arteries humming above while mosaics and polished marble guide your footsteps. For the next hour you move through the country’s largest underground pedestrian system, pausing at sky-lit atriums and landmark lobbies before a comfortable shuttle carries you southeast toward the Johnson Space Center.
