About This Adventure

Embark on an unforgettable two-night adventure in the breathtaking high country! Experience horseback riding through stunning landscapes, encounter local wildlife, and savor hearty meals. Stay in a charming bunkhouse and explore iconic filming locations. This immersive journey combines nature, history, and camaraderie for a truly memorable escape.

Please note when booking online you need to select Saturday as the start date and the ride includes Friday night accommodation before the ride

Itinerary

PRE Arrive Friday late afternoon / evening Arrive at Howqua Valley Views at your leisure from 4.00pm. Meal not included this evening.

DAY ONE

  • Enjoy a cooked breakfast before departing Home Station Lodge for a short drive to our high country farming property that’s been in the Watson family for many generations.
  • We then set off on our ‘Man from Snowy River’ experience on horseback. We ride up to spectacular 360 degree views and along the way, watch out for the wildlife that often takes a look at us, including kangaroos, wallabies and the amazing bird life.
  • We ride to our bush hut for a picnic lunch.
  • After lunch we ride through creek beds and bridle tracks to our accommodation at Howqua Valley Views, a bunkhouse converted from stables. There are 4 bunkrooms with 2 bathrooms
  • Enjoy a relaxing hot shower before a hearty roast dinner in one of Victoria’s prettiest valleys.

DAY TWO We enjoy a hearty country breakfast that gives you a big energy boost before we set off for “Kate Camerons Peak” where we see the perilously steep hill where the famous jump scene from the movie was filmed. We then head down to the farm for lunch to complete our ride.
