About This Adventure

Experience the serene beauty of the Arctic on a two-hour horseback ride with Finland's noble Finnhorses. Perfect for beginners, this adventure includes an introduction at the stables, a tranquil journey through wintery forests, and concludes with a warm drink and treat, celebrating the bond with these majestic animals.

About

Finnhorses are the national breed of Finland. These noble and calm horses are wonderful to ride, also for the ones with no previous riding experience. After arriving at the Kakslauttanen horse stables the guests get their riding gear and an introduction tour at a stables. Then it’s time to head to the wintery forest. This peaceful ride takes you as close to the harmony of nature you can get. After the ride we thank our horses and head inside for a hot drink and treat. duration of the program: 2 hrs. (from pick-up to return)

Please note

  • The weight limit for horseback riding is 100kg
  • The winter temperatures can vary anywhere between 0°C and -40°C (on average it's -14°C)
  • In the winter the most important things is to dress up in layers:
  • First of all you need good thermal long underwear, then another layer of something warm like wool or fleece
  • On the top you will need good garment, which should preferably be water and wind proof
  • The most important thing to remember is that you should be totally covered from head to toes
  • Don’t forget to bring your smile :)
