About

Our 1.5 hour private ride is well suited for all riding abilities, from 1st time riders, families with young kids on to experienced riders.

  • We customize your ride time to meet your needs. We can do one-on-one lessons to build confidence before heading out on the trail, or spend the entire time trail riding.

  • Minimal elevation gain

  • Age requirement: 6 years (no double riding)

  • 2 person minimum.

  • We have strict weight restrictions based on height to ensure safety and comfort of our guests and horses. (Please see our chart in frequently asked questions.) We reserve the right to check weight at check in.

Once we leave the barn we'll head out on a scenic ride on private trails through the canopied forest, alongside Beaver Creek, past ponds, natural wetlands. Seasonal wildflowers dot the trails and meadows. Over 3/4 of the ride is in the shaded protection of the forest. Keep your eyes open for river otters, blue heron and duck families that sometimes make an appearance.

  • Ride duration is 1.5 hours, but plan for an additional 20-30 minutes for waivers, helmets etc.

  • We hand pick a horse for each rider based on riding experience, height and weight prior to their ride.

For riders wanting to go faster

Due to the increased safety risks and liability when going faster, everyone on the ride must be an experienced horseback rider. Experienced riders are: (at a minimum)

  • Riders who have ridden consistently (more than 20 times a year), with more than 50 rides total.
  • Have experience going faster and can maintain horse control and an independent seat at a trot and a canter.

**An independent seat consists of:

  • Not bouncing in the saddle while trotting and maintaining a 2 point seat while cantering.
  • Feet stay in the stirrups with heels down.
  • Rider is balanced and relaxed and does not resort to grabbing the saddle horn or pulling back on the reins to help them balance.

If everyone on the private ride falls into the advanced rider category and is physically fit, we do a short riding test for each rider to verify their skill level.
