Mounted on a calm, well-trained horse, riders leave the low hum of hotels behind and climb into the raw eastern flank of Aruba. The trail narrows under sun-baked cacti and tufts of divi-divi as the brittle scrub pushes and shapes the path; the ocean’s edge waits like a crease in the landscape. After a steady ascent the island opens: wind-scoured highlands, weathered volcanic outcrops, and a final descent to the jagged horseshoe of Conchi — the Natural Pool — formed where ancient lava and limestone locked together to trap the sea.
