The ride begins with the rumble of an air-conditioned van easing out of Kingston, and by the time the coastline opens the horses are ready at a shaded corral. Mount up and feel the animals settle into a steady walk as the countryside gives way to salt-sweet air; when the trail reaches the shoreline the sea seems to dare you to wade in.
