How the Island Jewel Yacht Charter rental works: All parties are to select one person as the “charterer” (1 payment). This person will take full responsibility for the vessel and his/her guests. Per our demise charter agreement “bareboat” policy, the charterer is responsible for providing their captain, crew, provisions, fuel, and insurance. The charterer is allowed up to 12 guests in addition to himself/herself. This total DOES NOT include the charterer, the captain/master, or any hired crew members. We recommend a captain and crew through a separate company: Captain & Crew Aloha LLC. They have a selection of licensed and pre-approved captains and crew members who have experience on our vessel. They sailed the Island Jewel from Long Beach, CA, to Honolulu, HI, in June 2022 and have already been added to our insurance policy. If hired, they can assume responsibility for safely operating and docking the vessel, customize your itinerary, provide light snack/beverage provisions, cover fuel costs, facilitate the appropriate charter and insurance agreements, give a vessel orientation, and provide a full safety briefing to all guests before leaving the dock. They will provide one licensed captain and one crew member.

Captain & Crew Aloha LLC fee: $150/hr plus tax and processing fee is INCLUDED in the above prices but paid separately to Captain & Crew Aloha LLC via Credit Card, Debit Card, Venmo, or PayPal. Included in Captain & Crew Aloha LLC fee: INCLUDED in the Captain & Crew Aloha fee is one licensed captain who is listed on the insurance policy, one crew member, fuel, and light snacks/beverages, including fruit, chips, cookies, soft drinks, water, and ice. Croissant sandwiches are provided on charters of 4 hours or longer. Alcohol MUST be BYOB. BYOB/BYOF or catering is welcome. The crew can help facilitate cooking and help prepare and serve meals, snacks, and drinks; however, they are not professional chefs or bartenders. Their primary responsibility is the SAFETY of the boat and all guests on board. Hire chefs or bartenders are welcome but must be hired separately and included in the charterer’s guest count.

Special Requests: The crew is willing to pick up additional provisions from Foodland for full reimbursement as they already go there for included provisions. If needed, they can pick up take-out orders from other locations at a rate of $50/hr. for the time it takes.

Vessel Description: The “Island Jewel” is an emerging new yacht designed with sailing and entertaining in mind. This Excess 12, 40’ Private Sailing Catamaran boasts expansive, luxurious sailing, cruising, and communal spaces.

• 2 Tables: Salon table can seat 5, Deck table can seat 6
• Fusion Radio Sound System with Bluetooth
• 10’ Boat Tender “Dinghy” with 9.9hp Yamaha available on full/multi-day charters (4-person capacity)
• 1 Floating Mat
• 12 Beach towels, 12 sets of snorkel gear, and a snorkel guide with a Go Pro is provided. Go Pro photos are complimentary.

Not allowed on board to avoid injury, damage, or stains. No shoes! We will provide a shoe basket (Dirty soles stain our white deck). (Exceptions will be made for medical or balance issues. In this case, please make sure your shoes are clean and in like new condition. No glass beer bottles! We provide non-glass serving cups on board for any liquor, white wine, or champagne (Broken glass with no shoes on is not good). No red wine or chocolate! (These items will stain upholstery). No spray on sunscreen! (It will make the deck slippery). No spray tanner (It will stain upholstery).

Refund Policy: No refunds will be given within 7 days of the charter. Inclement weather or a large south swell deemed unsafe by the pre-approved captain up to 1 hour of charter start time are the only exceptions. Rescheduling is permitted depending on availability.

Inclement Weather: Winds exceeding 27 knots, thunderstorms, or large south swell inhibiting us from safely leaving the channel may result in cancellation, and a full refund or rescheduling will be permitted. Your pre-approved captain is the only person who can cancel a charter due to weather or south swell for safety reasons.

Transportation, Parking, and Drop Off Location: Transportation is not provided. Uber or Lift is recommended. Paid parking at Kewalo Basin Harbor is $2.44/hr. Additional parking is available within walking distance if the parking lot is full. Provisions and all guests can be dropped in the loading zone in front of the Island Jewel.
