Charlotte is the ‘Queen City’ located on the Piedmont; its Uptown grew from a 18th–19th century trading post and later gold and banking industries shaped its civic center.
Stick to sidewalks and public paths, avoid touching holiday displays, and use public transit when possible; low-impact urban tourism reduces wear on seasonal installations.
