A holiday tradition, ice skating in Pershing Square promises to bring a smile to everyone’s face and delight you and your skating partners – big and small, young and old.
Ice Skates Skates are included with admission. Figure and hockey skate sizes range from toddler’s size 8 to adult’s size 15. You may also bring your own ice skates.
Skate Helpers For beginning skaters 12 years and under, we offer Skate Helpers: Penguin & Polar Bear Helpers that glide with the skater along the ice and helps with balance and control. Skaters must be able to stand on their own and push the Helper by themselves. Others cannot push them. For safety considerations, Skate Helpers cannot be rented to anyone over 12 years old and are rented at the discretion of the Rink Manager.
Lockers Lockers are available to rent for $5. They are large enough to hold a couple of pairs of shoes, a medium-size handbag and a few small purchases.
Sessions fill up quickly, especially on weekends and evenings; booking ahead or arriving early secures your spot and a stress-free entry.
Downtown LA can get chilly on the rink despite mild winter weather, so bring thermal layers and gloves to stay warm and comfortable.
If you’re new to ice skating, ask for a Penguin or Polar Bear skate helper to improve balance and confidence on the ice.
Even in cooler weather, skating is physical activity; sip water before and after your session to keep energy levels up.
Pershing Square has been a public gathering place since 1870 and hosts annual seasonal events celebrating downtown LA’s culture.
The rink operates with environmentally conscious refrigeration and cleaning practices to reduce its urban footprint and maintain air quality.
Protect your hands from cold and minor falls during skating.
