About This Adventure

Explore New Orleans' unique burial traditions on a captivating cemetery tour. Journey through the city's "Cities of the Dead," where you'll discover the fascinating above-ground burial practices and hear stories from an educated guide. Choose between two daily tours and immerse yourself in the rich history of this iconic locale.

This tour begins at the Cemeteries at the end of Canal Street. You will take the streetcar to the end of the line to get there prior to the tour start time.

New Orleans has burial practices here that differ from many places. We bury many of our dead above ground. There are specific practices and those are explained to you. You will enter a couple different Cemeteries and learn all about how we keep our people in THE CITIES OF THE DEAD!

This tour is twice daily. You choose 10 am or 1 pm.
