Oxford’s rich history, spanning over 1,000 years, is brought to life through gripping and informative city walks. Choose from a range of durations: 90 minutes, 2 hours, 3 hours, or a full-day tour.

Discover a college around every corner, with literary landmarks and film locations and inspirations along the way.

You can customise your tour by selecting from Oxford’s iconic colleges - where scholars have lived, studied, and worshipped for centuries. We can also include remarkable sites like the Sheldonian Theatre, Divinity School, or Natural History Museum. Whether you choose to explore inside buildings or enjoy the city’s rich history from its streets, we’ll help tailor the experience to your interests.

We warmly encourage guests to share their interests so we can tailor the walk to suit them.

Our guides are accredited members of the Oxford Guild of Tour Guides and/or trained by the Institute of Tourist Guiding.

This tour is available in English and French. Please specify your preferred language when booking.

90 minutes The tour includes the Martyrs Memorial, the Anglo Saxon tower and a stroll into the heart of the university passing older colleges, the splendour of Radcliffe Square and the University centre including the Clarendon Building, 15th century Divinity School, the Old Schools Quad of the Bodleian Library and Sir Christopher Wren’s Sheldonian Theatre 2 hours In addition the 2 hour tour includes medieval lanes and quiet back streets, sites relating to CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien in Oxford and more of the university’s colleges. 3 hours In addition the 3 hour tour includes a further exploration of the backstreets taking in yet more Colleges and reaching out towards the East of the city learning about the Examination Schools, Magdalen College, the Botanic Gardens and Christchurch Meadow. 4 hours to a full day The full day tour is cutomised to your interests. A full day tour enables a deeper dive into the themes of the city.

Meeting Point: The tour begins in the heart of Oxford, with optional pick-up available from your city centre accommodation upon request.
