La Reggia di Caserta è in assoluto una delle più belle residenze reali, un gioiello del nostro inestimabile patrimonio, un’opera immensa. L' ottava meraviglia del mondo!
Tutto ebbe inizio nel 1752 quando il Re Carlo III di Borbone, ordinò la costruzione di un palazzo che potesse rappresentare la magnificenza della casata borbonica. Il progetto fu affidato al grande architetto napoletano di origini olandesi Luigi Vanvitelli che realizzò nella Reggia di Caserta quello che è stato definito il trionfo del Barocco Italiano.
La Reggia di Caserta con il suo bellissimo Parco e il Giardino Inglese occupa un’area di 61,000 m2. Ha la forma di un rettangolo con 4 cortili interni e si sviluppa su 5 piani. Si contano: uno scalone monumentale con 116 gradini, 1200 stanze, 1742 finestre, 1026 comignoli, 1 teatrino di corte, una cappella palatina, 34 scale interne e più di 1000 porte.
E’ la residenza reale più grande del mondo ed è un luogo stupefacente dove tutto è bellezza.
