Outlaw, criminal, hero, victim; the story of Australian legend Ned Kelly is integral to the character and spirit of Australia. In our small tour group we’ll explore the fascinating world of Ned Kelly and his gang.
In Ned Kelly’s hometown Avenel we’ll enjoy a morning tea and explore his childhood. From here we’ll track his life as we travel to Glenrowan to view an educational and entertaining production about the history of the Kelly Gang. Taking a break from the life of bandits, we’ll enjoy lunch at the renowned Tatong Tavern. Afterwards we’ll visit Stringybark creek — the site of the dramatic shootout between the Kelly Gang and police — before visiting the town of Mansfield.
Hat, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes (no open sandals please), insect repellent, clothing for warm and cool weather (it can have cool winds up top on the mountain), rain jacket, camera and your sense of adventure.
You’ll be walking around historic sites and rugged terrain, so wear sturdy footwear.
