The Boyhood Home of President Woodrow Wilson offers a glimpse into the lives of a Southern family with Northern roots in that tumultuous decade, the 1860s. You will hear stories of the South’s secession, preparations for war, sectional division of a Protestant denomination, shortages of food and money, and sacrifices made to support a lost cause. You will also hear stories of defeat and reunion, all which would profoundly affect the 28th President as he served as Commander in Chief during the First World War. It was in this manse that Wilson first learned leadership skills, began his struggle to become our most educated President, and grounded his profound Christian faith.
