About

St. Joseph Plantation is one of the few fully intact sugar cane plantations in the River Parishes. In addition to the Manor Home, this plantation features numerous outbuildings for travelers to explore. These include original slave cabins, a detached kitchen, blacksmith’s shop, carpenter’s shed, and schoolhouse. Several buildings have been moved to their present location from another part of the property, but most remain exactly where they were built. Composed of 2500 acres, our property stretches back from the Mississippi River as far as the eye can see. Take a walk through time as you enjoy a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the many interesting people who have called this plantation ""Home.""

A number of films have been shot at St. Joseph and Felicity, the sister plantation on the property they include, All The King's Men, Skeleton key, Mudbound, 12 Years A Slave, Underground (TV Series), Quarry (TV Series), Queen Sugar (TV Series), and the Roots remake.
