Our exclusive half-day Rhodes Essentials tour takes you on journey through Rhodes’ history, while highlighting how its geographic position led to its development as a multi-cultural and cosmopolitan centre.
Rhodes Essentials begins with a drive through history, as your knowledgeable tour guide explains the history and significance of its buildings and monuments.
You’ll visit Mandraki Harbour to learn about the Colossus of Rhodes and see the impressive Italianate buildings, and stop at the Acropolis of Ancient Rhodes, established in 408 BC. Here you can visit the Temple of Apollo and admire the best view of the city.
The second half of our Rhodes Essentials tour focuses on the Jewish heritage of Rhodes. We begin at the Jewish Cemetery, one of the oldest in Europe with tombstones dating from the 1500s to the present day. Then we’ll head to La Juderia, the Jewish Quarter, housed within the medieval Old Town.
Stroll through narrow, winding lanes and across Alhadeff Park, while you learn about the history of La Juderia and the story of the Jewish people who lived here.
