In Ravenna, the city famous worldwide for its mosaics, we decided to start a Free Walking Tour that focuses on something else: an outdoor walk which pauses on the main events of the town’s history and let you discover some parts of the city you wouldn't know otherwise, like the Harbor. Please note that this is not a mosaics tour!
We will start our tour from Ravenna Train Station. Before entering the Old Town, we will pay a visit to the Darsena di città, the old city harbor. We will then go back to via Roma and pass by Sant’Apollinare Nuovo, stop in Piazza San Francesco to pay an homage to Dante (he is buried here), and enter Via Cavour to reach the magnificent Basilica di San Vitale.
Itinerary: Train Station, Darsena di città, via Roma, Sant’Apollinare Nuovo, Piazza San Francesco, Dante graveyard, Ca' de Ven, Via Cavour, Basilica di San Vitale
