The Overton Park Shell (where Elvis Presley rocked his first pro gig in 1954) is an historic concert venue in Midtown Memphis which now offers hour-long guided museum tours that relate many other important “firsts” while colorfully twisting through Memphis’s rich live music history. From the W.C. Handy era, to the 1950s' of early Rock & Roll, to the 1960s’ Country Blues Festivals, through the Classic Rock 1970's daze (and beyond), The Shell has survived – and much more!
