The sun lowers toward the marsh horizon and the water sharpens to a sheet of brass as a small fleet of Creek Cats slips away from the marina. Each two-passenger boat hums under a 30HP motor, and the guide steers a course that threads between oyster bars, salt marsh fingers and the open channel toward Harbour Town and Daufuskie Island. The tide pulls at the hulls, gulls ride the wind, and dolphins often push just ahead, curious and quick.
