You start in the cool shadow of riparian oaks, the river daring you forward beneath a tunnel of myrtle and heather. Footsteps fall soft on a bed of leaves; water runs as if it knows the route better than you do. Where the valley opens, juniper and strawberry tree give way to weathered rock—strange, wind-sculpted shapes that invite you to pause and scan for raptors.
